Frankie Currell
Name: Frankie Currell
Discipline: You will find us mostly in the Showing, Working hunter ring. But I also enjoy a bit of BE, BD, low level show jumping and arena eventing.
Based in: South West Wales (UK)
Age when started riding: I was always around horses and being plonked on my grandmas homebred Shetlands from the time I could sit up, but officially started to compete in LR when I was 3 on a homebred miniature Shetland; Nutti.
Favourite Snack: This is easy, it has to be anything with chocolate in it. I'm not fussy what it is as I'm a bit of a chocoholic!
Current Top Horse: I would probably say my top pony is "Sapphire Classic".
He has qualified for HOYS in a total of 4 times, he has previously won, and been placed twice. He has qualified for RI a few times and been to visit Santa twice and stood best of breed.
Future Goals: To continue the success, we have had with the horses, and find time to complete my HGV licence.
Top Tips: Call me old fashioned but good health, performance, and shine comes from-in. It is the perfect building blocks for success is to get your horses diet right.
"Smile" even when it's going wrong, just smile. I qualified for a big final when my pony decided to change the show I planned by taking off half way through, but I just went with flow, smiled through it and everyone thought it was the most fantastic gallop they had ever seen!
Favourite Rowen Barbary products: I have two: Rowen Barbary Ready Mash Extra and Rowen Barbary Muscle Builder.
Do you have any mascots / rituals whilst out competing?: Whenever we drive through a tunnel we have to hold our breath for good luck, and you can't put the saddle on from the wrong side.
