Acti-Soothe follows years of research, and over a year of product trials by both professional and amateur riders. The ethos behind the product is that gastric ulcers and anxiety go hand in hand, for some horses this could include getting nervous and excitable when out competing while for other horses it could be as simple as being turned out last. By looking at the whole horse health we are able to create a product containing key ingredients such as lecithin and pectin, calcareous marine algae and Acti-Saf which help support gastric health and digestion. We have then combined this with a calming blend of herbs such as chamomile, lemon balm and ashwagandha to help reduce anxiety and nervousness.
Product trials were conducted on a highly sensitive showjumper that struggled with his lateral work and was very tense at competitions. The Acti-Soothe was slowly added into the diet which resulted in a "dramatic change in behaviour and a horse that was much more willing and cooperative to work". As part of the trials a 17 year old retired TB was started on the Acti-Soothe. This TB starts to become "girthy" and show symptoms of ulcers as he comes out of winter every year, so Acti-Soothe was added into the diet to help keep him settled and to maintain a constant weight. The results were that he "show no signs of tummy discomfort and is putting on weight ". A event horse in his first season with a tendency to display anxious behaviour was also trialled on the Acti-Soothe for his first stay away show with him being "He was far calmer than normal as well as being able to process the quick questions asked of him XC without him feeling at all stressed"
