Key Points:

  • Aids weight gain
  • High in Omega 3 and Fatty acids
  • Aids skin and coat condition

Linseed meal is the ideal supplement for supporting weight gain, skin condition and overall health. Linseed is high in Omega and fatty acids, both of which have been linked aiding digestion and aiding muscle development. Linseed Meal is heat treated to reduce antinutritive factors and nutritive degradation, it has also been attributed to aiding with digestion and digestibility of protein and fibre.

Linseed is a brilliant source of slow-release energy, due to nutrient dense properties because of its different profiles of fibre, giving linseed a great range of slow-release energy.

*Studies have shown that that digestibility was improved in horses consuming a Linseed Meal supplemented diet, it showed that they had improved digestion of crude fats and proteins, especially when consuming oats, suggesting that that linseed aids digestibility within higher starch diets.

Due to cold pressing Linseed meal has a higher content of Omega oils giving up to 20% of oils, which can be a cost-effective way of boosting Omega 3 and fatty acids into your horse or ponies diet. **In one study, after horses being fed a Linseed supplemented diet it was shown that linseed improved hair coat and skin condition scores.
