Key Points

  • Appetite enhancer
  • Aids Digestion
  • Anti-inflammatory

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) has many natural benefits for horses and ponies, deriving from the mint family, it’s an aromatic plant substance that promotes the production of saliva, gastric juices and bile, and stimulates the appetite. That's not all Lemon balm has to offer, with Lemon Balms antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, it can aid stress-induced digestive ailments, such as gastric ulcers and chronic worriers.

The essential oils in lemon balm have a calming and soothing effect of the digestive system, aiding behaviour in stress prone horses and ponies. Do not use lemon balm if your horse has a Lamiaceae-related allergy.
